Our inspiration for the brand comes from the "headspa", a serene, scalp-focused counterpart to a facial that has blossomed across Korea and in other parts of Asia. This rejuvenating ritual begins with a comprehensive scalp examination, followed by a soothing head and neck massage, and concludes with a personalized regimen of scalp and hair treatments. The calming experience leaves you feeling revitalized and centered, with radiant hair and a nourished scalp.

Dating back to the Three Kingdoms period, these time-honored practices used ingredients like green tea, rice water, and bamboo to cleanse, nourish, and revitalize. What began as a personal journey to explore my Korean heritage led me to discover the world of scalp care. After experiencing my first Korean headspa—a facial for your scalp—I was inspired by how Koreans treat the scalp with the same intention, nourishment, and ritual as the skin. I knew I had to bring this philosophy home. BASE-K is my way of sharing these meaningful rituals with the world.
